By definition, En-ROADS can be considered an Integrated Assessment Model (IAM) because it integrates the climate, economy, and energy sectors and provides scenario assessments. It mimics the behavior of larger IAMs and complements them in individual learning. 

One of the main differences from larger IAMs is the scope. The others are geographically disaggregated and have a more detailed structure.
