We suggest partnering with community organizations and designing events that address climate change from a perspective that is important to them. Examples of partners include:
Schools, colleges, and universities
Faith organizations (e.g. churches, temples, synagogues, mosques, and other houses of worship)
Local government
Advocacy groups
Corporations
Business leaders and organizations
Volunteer organizations (e.g. Rotary Club)
Environmental and sustainability organizations
Neighborhood organizations
Many of our volunteers have also taken a more creative approach, for example:
Designing a museum exhibit incorporating our simulations
Leading a climate change-focused happy hour
Creating a competition to pitch climate mitigation plans
A few other suggestions for drawing people to your event include:
Emphasize the interactive nature of the event and the non-partisan, science-based tool. People get to test their own ideas about climate change, explore different solutions, and see what works.
Have fun. The Climate Action Simulation and World Climate Simulation roleplaying games are especially fun, lively experiences.
Create a challenge or competition.
Use attractive and eye-catching materials to advertise your event. Look for the example flyer and other resources here: https://www.climateinteractive.org/the-en-roads-climate-workshop/learn-to-lead-the-workshop/#promote-your-event
